1) Learn To SurfAbout: Sydney has some fantastic beaches for surfing of any level. For the beginners there are plenty of great surf schools who will give you all the guidence that you will need to enjoy this natural adrenaline rush. Also a great day out for the whole family having fun down at the beach.
Some of the more popular learn to surf beaches are: Bondi, Manly, Long Reef, Collaroy, Palm Beach
Entry Price – Varies in price from free (do it yourself if you have your own surfboard) to pay for group or single lesson (prices vary depending on surf school).
Ages – 5 year + in most school for lessons
Opening Hours
The beaches in and around Sydney are open every day of the year as they are public beaches, however the Surf Rescue is only open for specific time during the year. How to get there:
Train: Bondi Junction is the closest Train Station but if still a long walk to the beach. There are NO trains that travel to the Northern Beaches.
Ferry: The nearest Ferry Depart for Circular Quay and arrives at Manly and is approximately 30 minutes trip.
Bus: Varies depending on the beach in question, please refer to bus timetables for the specific beach you are after.
Car: At some of the less popular beaches like Cronulla Beach you will be able to find free back street parking however at the more popular beaches you will have to pay for metered parking.
