About: The Sydney Opera House is an iconic symbol of Australia and is one of the most famous and recognizable buldings around the world.  Whether you take in a show or simply sit on the steps and admire the amazing view of the harbour the Sydney Opera House is an amazing place not to be missed.

Proudly it is now listed on the world heritage list with this being said about it: “Sydney Opera House is a great architectural work of the 20th century. It represents multiple strands of creativity, both in architectural form and structural design, a great urban sculpture carefully set in a remarkable waterscape and a world famous iconic building.” UNESCO

The Sydney Opera House comprises of 6 different venues which are: Concert Hall, Opera Theatre, Drama Theatre, Playhouse, Studio, Utzon Room, Forecourt and Recording Studio

Different event types; Opera, Music, Theatre, Dance, Family, Schools, Talks, Kids

How to get there:

Bus, Train and Ferry Information

Circular Quay is the closest public transport terminal and buses, trains and ferrys all stop there.  Circular Quar is an easy 5 to 7 minute walk to the Sydney Opera House.

Complimentary Shuttle buses run

Circular Quay is a five to seven minute walk from the Sydney Opera House. You can catch buses, trains and ferries to Circular Quay. To ensure your public transport needs can be met and for further information please contact


Complimentary Shuttle Bus

A complimentary shuttle bus service is available and has been put in place to assist the elderly and the less mobile customer, it has limited seating and works on a first come, first served basis (you cannot book tickets on the shuttle bus)

Opera Theatre and Concert Hall times:

      • Before: 75 minutes before matinee and evening performances and runs continuously for 1 hours
      • After:  10 minutes after all  performances and runs continuously for 45 hours

Drama and Playhouse Shuttle times:

      • Before: 45 minutes before matinee and evening performances and runs continuously for 1 hours
      • After:  10 minutes after all  performances and runs continuously for 30 hour.
